2020 has been quite the epic year. A lot of people found solace in reading, right? For me, I found my happy place traveling, writing, and publishing. In fact, I released six of my ten books in 2020 alone. For that reason, I actually was unable to read as much as I would have liked to. In 2019 I shared my '19 favorite reads of the year, but for 2020's compilation, I asked my readers for help. That way, I could kick off 2021 with a bang by catching up and making sure I've read the most notable series of 2020 (as determined by the members in my fun Facebook Group.
Of course, since the readers I asked were fans of my work, I'll include their favorite Adell Ryan series this year, too! Let's start, shall we? P.S. To jump right to the Amazon List, click here!
Burnout by Adell Ryan
Ever make it your life goal to stay far, far away from sexy men who live and breathe vehicles? No? Just me?
Most of my life has been spent hiding behind one of the West Coast’s most infamous players in the automotive industry.
But when he unexpectedly dies and the family business falls under new management, I’m forced to step from the shadows. After being relocated across country, they demand I infiltrate the local street racing scene, find out who runs it, and aid in a takeover.
I convince myself there’s no other choice. Failing to carry out these demands will result in the unraveling of my darkest secrets… the unraveling of me.
Then, I meet them — the men who bring light into my otherwise spiraling dark existence.
They are intoxicating, dangerous, and irresistible. And, as if things aren’t complicated enough, they’re my only leads to the underground world of fast cars and dirty money.
Will I be able to unearth enough information to keep my secrets buried without losing these men who are quickly stealing my heart?
Buckle up for Fast & Furious meets Driven in this high-octane, edge-of-your-seat Reverse Harem Romance!
Blackfang Barons by Elaina Jadin
We aren't her saviors. We're her worst nightmare.
We've been called vicious monsters. Brutal. Cold. Savage.
We rule the criminal underworld the same way we rule our pack--with absolute control. We take what we want and demand complete obedience.
When she comes to us, she's damaged. Fragile. Wounded. And oh so tempting.
Soft skin, haunted eyes, and a darkness inside her that sets us on edge.
She's not broken... yet. But that's what we do best.
For thirty days she belongs to us, the Barons. She's our property, to do with as we please.
She thinks it'll be easy. That we'll have mercy on her. That we'll use a gentle touch. And that she'll be able to walk away from us at the end of the month.
She's wrong.
Our little fawn will come to know our cruel strength. She'll see the fierce beasts prowling inside us. Feel the hunger of the wolf's teeth against her throat.
And she'll beg for more.
Untouchable by Heather Long
When it comes down to acclaim in the yearbook, my class rank would probably earn me my only entry, but probably very little else. I don’t wear cosmetics, do my hair or really give a damn about my appearance in general. I don’t need to be cool, and I’ve managed my high school career navigating all the different groups from the nerds to the jocks to the theatre kids and the band geeks.
Kicking off senior year, my only focus is to make every AP class count and keep my grades up. Shouldn’t be hard, particularly with my so-called untouchable status. Oh yeah, imagine that—I had a reputation. Hadn’t been a blip on my radar until the end of junior year when one of the girls’ dropped that little nugget on me. Apparently, the guys at school considered me the best girl to hang out with for fun or homework, but nothing else.
While I’m not looking for a date, it’s a little hard to swallow that I ranked as the best bud and tutor, but would definitely never fall into the Girl Most Likely To Get Asked Out.
Pfft. What did I care? One more year and I was off to college, so what if the numbers of female friends I used to have drifted off and I’d scored a permanent seat in the friend zone. I had subjects to study, grades to maintain, and colleges to get into. Fine, I didn’t care about the rules or status before, and I wouldn’t now.
181 class days to go, and I’ll graduate. No problem, right?
The Anomaly Series by Aster North
Shiny Blades. Scorching Fire. Falling Feathers.
A demon army is rising...
An anomaly must bring it down.
But can she handle a drunk, knife-wielding goat and four hunters?
That’s me, Everly Banks, the original supernatural. After being betrayed by The Council and given to a madman, I burned it all to the ground. Now all I want is to stay hidden, protecting those who need it from the shadows.
When four hunters show up on my doorstep asking for my help and trying to drag me back into the light, I send them and their secrets packing. Did I mention they work for The Council?
I may not have a choice. An army of demons is amassing and innocents are getting caught up in its net. My only friend may be next.
Trusting them may burn me, but I’ve always played with fire.
Steel Demons MC by Crystal Ash
The Collapse changed everything. Good men became killers. Strong women became property.
And every day turned into a fight for survival.
I once dreamed of becoming a nurse. That dream went up in flames the same day I graduated nursing school, when women were banned from holding any kind of medical license.
Now as an unlicensed medic, I travel what was once the southwestern United States, trading medical services for food, transportation, and shelter with the hopes of reaching Canada.
Because the United States is no more. And the lawless land that’s replaced it is a deadly place for a woman.
My worst fear comes true when I’m captured by the Steel Demons MC, the most ruthless biker gang in the Southwest. These men thrive on the violence and chaos brought on by the Collapse, and they’re eager to unleash it all on me.
It doesn’t even matter that the President’s dog likes me. I’m as good as dead.
Sons of Anarchy meets The Handmaid's Tale in this dystopian reverse harem adventure! This wild ride is not for the faint of heart and contains adult themes that may be triggering.
Wolves Next Door by Auryn Hadley
The things that go bump in the night are supposed to be headboards, not monsters.
Leaving my husband was hard. Trying to face the world alone with my teenage daughter is the sort of thing nightmares are made of, but I caught a break. My best friend just hired me for a great job. It's not anything special, simply managing the leasing office of this very fancy and highly exclusive neighborhood, yet the perks mean I get my second chance.
Speaking of perks, my rent-free house is right beside not just one handsome man, but five! Each one is hotter than the last, and all of them seem interested in me. Maybe I can't remember the last date I was on, but if I want to master being a strong woman, then this is a good place to start. It's just dating, right?
Normal life stuff.
Not so much.
Everyone around us has these strange golden eyes. Then there are the questions no one will answer. And who cares if there's a lot of wildlife running around at night? I do, especially when a wolf keeps sneaking into my backyard. I have a kid to worry about. Things have got to change before someone gets bitten!
Normal is going out the window, and fast. My neighbors say I don't belong here, and they don't mean because I'm Hispanic. Never mind that I just heard a man growl. Now they're talking about fated somethings, and I'm pretty sure they mean me.
I feel like I'm going crazy!
Because when I said I wanted to learn how to be strong, this wasn't what I meant at all. Still, when it comes to taking care of my little girl, I will definitely learn how to be the biggest bitch on the block.
I just hope that doesn't become literal.
Lola and the Billionaires by Kathryn Moon
Lola Barnes only wants one thing, to get her life under control. No more chasing alphas who abuse and toss away betas like her. No more hiding in her cousin’s apartment licking wounds that won’t heal. Armed with her dream job and her less than dreamy apartment, Lola is ready to start a new chapter of her life without alphas. But that’s easier said than done when one stumbling incident after another leads Lola closer to an alluring pack of captivating men.
These alphas are everything Lola dreamed of, but they already have an omega—a playful male model who won’t stop flirting with her. And Lola is only a beta, one who comes with deep scars and an unshakeable aversion to alphas and their powerful presences. If only she could resist their perfect beta, Leo, whose patience and determination to see her heal breaks down one wall after another.
When the alpha who all but destroyed Lola tries to start a game of cat and mouse that’s all claws, the safest place for Lola may be the one she’s most terrified of, in the arms of an alpha pack.
Madison Kate by Tate James
“Madison Kate Danvers was murdered tonight.”
Those words changed my life, and not for the better.
They were wrong, of course. I wasn’t dead. But I was set up.
After being charged with a string of offences--and made an example of by my political minded father--I’m eventually released back into Shadow Grove with one thing on my mind.
Hate.
Someone is going to pay for derailing my carefully laid out future. Someone is going to catch the full force of my hate. How very convenient that someone just moved into the bedroom down the hall from me.
Archer D’Ath and his boys messed with the wrong chick and they’re about to learn just how cold Madison Kate’s hate can run.
